Potreba biotínu sa zvyšuje v priebehu obdobia rastenia, gravidity a laktácie. Nedostatok metionínu môže tiež spôsobiť poruchy funkcie a vzhľadu kože a srsti.
Metionín je jednou z aminokyselín vytvárajúcich stavebné zložky proteínov. Navyše sa v nepatrných množstvách podieľa na chemických metabolických procesoch, ktoré sú dôležité pre zdravie zvieraťa. Je jednou z esenciálnych aminokyselín, ktoré zvieracie organizmy nevedia samostatne vyrobiť a preto je nutné ju dodávať v krmive. Metionín je považovaný za primárnu nedostatkovú aminokyselinu obsiahnutú v doma pripravovanom krmive podávanom domácim zvieratám. Preto musí byť dostatok metionínu zabezpečený pridávaním doplnkového krmiva.
Biotín sa ako koenzým v malých množstvách podieľa na rozmanitých metabolických procesoch pri premene proteínov, cukrov a nenasýtených mastných kyselín v organizme. Je potrebný predovšetkým na udržanie správnej funkcie kože, srsti a pazúrov. Bolo zistené, že biotín podporuje účinky biotínu (synegické pôsobenie).
Dávkovanie
- Psi: 1 tableta na 10 kg 1 x denne po dobu 3 – 5 týždňov, potom 1/4 tablety na 10 kg 1 x denne.
- Mačky: 1/2 - 1 tableta / deň. Jedna tableta váži 0,23 g.

Dosage
