During production at our factory in Iserlohn, the webbing is twisted using a special process known as "curving" – resulting in the typical curb chain design, reminiscent of a tightly knitted stitch. Curb chains are among the strongest types of chains; their tightly intertwined links make this style of chain collar particularly suitable for short-haired dog breeds. We produce curb chains from various materials, in different wire thicknesses and finishes (classic round curb or additionally flat-ground for extra shine), as well as in a variety of models (with a chain loop or the classic version without). All our stainless steel dog collars are more durable due to the use of solid, rust-free material – making them more sustainable, safer due to their high breaking strength, and significantly easier to care for than conventional nylon or leather collars. Made from 3.0mm thick rust-free stainless steel, the chain with article number 51182-55 withstands wind and weather, even during long walks, and is even ideal for water-loving dogs. The necklace, like the slip chain, is round and armored, featuring a sturdy ring (also made of stainless steel) for attaching a leash. The integrated slip chain makes it easy to put on and offers limited pull with a secure stop, thus meeting all the requirements of animal welfare-compliant dog equipment and providing security, for example, for dogs that might try to wriggle out of their collar in extreme situations. Not sure which wire gauge is right for your dog? 3mm wire gauge curb chains are particularly suitable for medium-sized dogs, such as Australian Cattle Dogs, Beagles, and Dalmatians. For the black stainless steel finish, the surface of the material is blackened through an electroplating process and then polished. Since this is not a permanent coating, an attractive antique finish will develop over time due to friction. Therefore, we recommend using a Curogan chain for dogs with very light or white fur to reduce the risk of discoloration.
